WKC had a very successful 2014; our competitor numbers were up, and rising steadily, track improvements have made life easier for both Competitors and Officials. The ‘Roll-on-Roll-off’ Scales will avoid lifting of Karts and attendant risk of injury [a strained back is NO fun]. The cover between the Grid and Tech Shed will provide shelter from the elements for both Karters and Officials.
We have arranged for extra chip bark, so that we can run in a ‘Clockwise’ direction, once we have ‘protected’ the catch fence at the bottom of the ‘new’ section of track.
All of these improvements require planning, effort, work and funds. As long as we have solid fields turn up to race, and we manage our funds prudently, the money will be available to undertake many of the improvements that will benefit the Club and its Members. The ‘work’ side of the equation is still being undertaken by the usual few; a little disappointing, as the Club is the Members, the rest is ‘Infrastructure’!
The Christmas meet and Presentation, held at the Jackie Howe, was well attended, and due to the efforts of the Roberts Family, all went smoothly, and much hilarity was enjoyed by all those who made the effort to attend, —-the food was great too!
Congratulations to all those who received awards and recognition for their efforts in 2014!
There are many changes to the Rule Book for 2015,
it may be prudent for everyone to ‘have a read’!
We still need volunteers to help run Race Meet.
If you can help, please let us know, we will be most grateful!
See you at our February 8th Club Race Meet!
